💛⭐️HAPPY RETIREMENT DR. GERALD STEINBERG⭐️💛

After a long and dedicated career, we honor and celebrate the retirement of our Medical Director, Dr. Gerald Steinberg.

Dr. Steinberg has been more than a leader at Chicopee Rehab and Nursing Center—he has been a compassionate caregiver, a trusted mentor, and a steady presence for both staff and residents. His impact goes far beyond his professional achievements; it lives on in the countless relationships he built and the lives he touched along the way.

As he steps into this well-earned new chapter, we are inspired to hear that he plans to continue his journey of care by volunteering in hospice. That commitment speaks volumes about the kind of person he is.

We are incredibly grateful for everything Dr. Steinberg has given to CRNC. Tuesdays won’t be the same without him!

Please join us in wishing Dr. Steinberg all the best in his retirement and the meaningful work ahead.

Congrats. Thats the worst rehab around. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

May is Stroke Awareness Month 💜

Stroke can happen to anyone, at any age—and when it does, every second matters. Be fast. Act fast. Save a life.

Remember B.E. F.A.S.T.:
⚖️ Balance loss
👁️ Eye/vision changes
🧠 Face drooping
💪 Arm weakness
🗣️ Speech difficulty
⏱️ Time to call 911

Let’s take a moment this month to learn the signs, share the message, and support survivors and their families. Awareness isn’t just information—it’s action.

Occupational therapy is more than just rehabilitation—it’s about helping individuals live full, independent, and meaningful lives 💙

Taking therapy outdoors creates new and engaging opportunities for movement and growth. Instead of repetitive indoor exercises, residents can walk on uneven ground, practice balance in real-life conditions, and build strength in ways that feel natural and purposeful.

These experiences support functional skills—one of the core goals of Occupational Therapy—by making each activity more meaningful and directly connected to everyday life.

At Chicopee Rehab and Nursing Center, we’re proud to help our residents gain confidence, independence, and joy in every step of their journey 🌿

OT/PT works good for you. However, when Insurance says no more, your cut off instantly. No more OT...No more PT. Yes, you can file a grievance but no guarantees you will win. If you do it's only for a limited time. Then you're back at square one. I know this how...I'm speaking from experience.

We’d like to give a heartfelt thank you to Louise, one of our incredible volunteers here at Chicopee Rehabilitation and Nursing 💛

Louise visits us weekly to lead chair yoga sessions with our residents, bringing energy, warmth, and a whole lot of joy to each class. Her background as a dance studio owner for 48 years truly shines through in the way she connects with our residents and keeps everyone moving and smiling.

We’re also honored that her connection to our community is so personal—her brother is a resident here, making her time with us even more meaningful.

Thank you, Louise, for your dedication, compassion, and the positive spirit you share with us each week. We are so grateful to have you as part of our Chicopee Rehab family!
